We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in San Antonio. This position is responsible for leading the electrical design on a variety of projects, managing project schedules, budgets, and teams, and ensuring the highest quality of work is maintained. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in innovative problem-solving, and contribute to the advancement of the built environment. This role is located in San Antonio, Texas and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
  • Lead and manage multiple complex projects concurrently, from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction
  • Oversee all phases of the project cycle, including finalizing scope of projects, preparing bid summaries, and compiling project budgets and cost estimates
  • Monitor project financial performance, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability
  • Manage work-in-process, billings, and outstanding accounts receivable collection efforts using Ajera software
  • Serve as point of contact for clients, architects, subcontracts, and design teams, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication
  • Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure electrical systems are seamlessly integrated with all other aspects of building designs
  • Attend project site visits and meetings as needed for project development, design reviews, and construction administration
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for various electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design process, obtaining necessary approvals and permits as required

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited university
  • Professional Engineer License in Texas
  • Significant experience in electrical engineering within the MEP industry, with a proven track record of successful project management
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems design principles and methodologies, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, establish milestones, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery
  • Knowledge of electrical practices and standards, including but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IESNA, IECC, and IEEE regulations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality electrical drawings and models
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands effectively
