Overview

FTI is in search of an Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technician to join our team in Patuxent River, MD.

Responsibilities

The Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technician will develop, design, modify, install, evaluate or operate electrical, electronic, surface ship combat systems, avionics, communications, or related data processing systems for military weapon systems or associated support equipment or facilities. In addition, the Technician will:

  • Diagnose faults in electrical and electronic circuits using diagnostic tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of test results and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Perform functional tests on assembled systems using various test equipment.
  • Inspect electrical systems and components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify and report quality issues to engineers.
  • Perform repairs, installation and functionality testing of electrical and avionics components on MH-60R to support reliability of system in preparation for CSSQT, Shipyard, and lab test events.
  • Operate and upgrade the MH-60R Avionics Operational Program (AOP) and Avionics Systems to ensure equipment remains up to date with the latest fleet release versions.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalency certification. Successful completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordinance, or engineering technology; or successful completion of at least 15 semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience with aircraft and weapons systems, shipboard combat systems, hardware, instrumentation, or software development. Preferred experience with SH-60, MH-53, MH-60 aircraft.
  • Active Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualification:

  • CDL driver certification
