Overview

Primary responsibilities for this position include Engineering and technical support for continuous steel galvanizing and painting process lines.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews engineering logs, production performance and data to troubleshoot operational questions/problems.
  • Acts as a resource for quality-related items (coil research, production and engineering logs, sales questions).
  • Provides electrical/automation repairs and improvements.
  • Provide parts support (researching, selection, ordering, tracking status, meeting with vendors).
  • Attend and participate in production, maintenance, quality, supplier and vendor meetings.
  • Make improvements by modifying automation and electrical systems.
  • Responsible for documentation (print updates, procedures, maintenance reports, management support).
  • Provides engineering design, major changes and implementations, capital projects.
  • Manage contractors as needed.
  • Coordinate and/or execute training for technicians.
  • Be a technical resource for operators regarding operation and functionality of equipment.
  • Backups and disaster recovery for drives and Level 1 systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineΒ 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Design level understanding of Siemens S7 lineup, TIA Portal, WinCC, IBA.
  • ProfiNet and general OT network configuration/troubleshooting.
  • Fiberoptic configuration/troubleshooting.
  • VFD drive maintenance/troubleshooting (TMEIC a plus).
  • Design level understanding of sophisticated closed loop control systems.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Two to five years of experience in the metals or related industry is preferred.
  • Continuous web processing a plus.
  • AutoCad or similar drafting program experience preferred.
  • Rockwell experience a plus.
  • Datacenter and virtualization knowledge is plus.
