We work in the transport and energy sectors, providing consultancy, engineering and operations services for clients such as major airports, governments, regulators, cities and rail and road operators.

 

With over 50 years of experience in the rail industry, we’ve delivered complex and challenging multidisciplinary projects all over the world. Our expertise extends to stations, depots, operations, maintenance analytics and asset management across all aspects of rail, including transport, technical and sustainability assessments and systems infrastructure.

 

The vacancy is working as part of a JV for Anthro (Egis & VVB Engineering) to support the HS2 Old Oak Common station project where we are managing the MEPHFC package of work.

 

This role will be based on site near Acton 3 or 4 days a week.



Job description


As an Associate / Lead Electrical Engineer you will be a senior member of the team and will be required to support the Associate Director, who leads the MEPHFC team. You will lead and manage other engineers and be responsible for the delivery of electrical designs, and this may involve assuming a CEM or CRE role.  We are looking for someone who’s dedicated, diligent, and driven, and will take this challenge head on, being an important part of a dynamic team with big ambitions.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Undertaking the CEM and/or CRE role
  • Deputise for the Associate Director where required
  • Develop design from feasibility up to As Built
  • Carrying out design reviews and working to design assurance processes
  • Helping to grow the team and developing its technical capability
  • Lead & manage a small team of engineers
  • Mentoring others in CRE roles, and discipline training
  • Nurture a get it right first time culture within the team
  • Produce and issue progress reports
  • Prepare & conduct presentations to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders etc.



Profile


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member of an engineering institute and has Engineering Council Professional Registration
  • Experience of undertaking the CEM/CRE/DPE role
  • Experience in managing works in accordance with NR-L2-RSE-02009, Engineering Management of Projects
  • At least 15 years’ experience in the railway industry
  • Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
  • Comprehensive knowledge of British Standards and Regulations, and Rail Standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL
  • Ability to deliver work to a programme and budget
  • Excellent leadership skills and mentoring experience
  • An ability to train and upskill team members
  • Expert communication, organisation, and collaboration abilities
  • Proficient at leading meetings and presenting to clients, stakeholders, colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers etc.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical systems from a technical, design, installation, buildability, and maintenance perspective
  • Knowledge of engineering software tools including Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux
  • Knowledge of procurement activities and lead times
