The Associate Electrical Engineer will play a role in developing innovative electrical hardware and software solutions for new products while driving cost reduction initiatives. This position will involve producing conceptual designs, guiding the development process, and creating detailed circuit drawings and software code. The Associate Electrical Engineer will also lead prototype development and collaborate closely with manufacturing to ensure seamless process development. With a focus on maintaining high standards and utilizing engineering analysis tools, the Associate Electrical Engineer will contribute to project management and support activities, ensuring the successful delivery of quality products that meet customer needs.

What You Will Do at Graco

Product Development and Design

  • Perform electrical hardware and software engineering tasks in the development of new products and cost reduction.
  • Participate in development of Product Specification.
  • Produce conceptual designs.
  • Guide development process to produce practical designs.
  • Create detailed circuit and hardware drawings and software code.
  • Define and lead prototype development and lab and field tests.

Standards and Analysis

  • Identify applicable standards.
  • Provide analysis of design to applicable standards.
  • Provide analysis of design using engineering analysis tools and techniques (e.g., circuit simulation, software analysis tools).
  • Review instruction manuals and product literature.

Project Management and Team Collaboration

  • Work with manufacturing on process development.
  • Conduct design reviews, safety reviews.
  • Participate in new product development as a member of a design team by:
  • Identification and communication of threats to schedule.
  • Participating in release-for-sale activities.
  • Working effectively in a team environment.
  • Create and maintain project schedules.

Product Support and Continuous Learning

  • Assist in standard product support activities, such as:
  • Analyzing and writing Engineering Change Orders.
  • Troubleshooting product problems in manufacturing, lab, or field.
  • Learn, participate in development, and apply knowledge of:
  • Developments in the technical field by staying abreast of developments to maintain technical knowledge.
  • Graco product line.
  • Operational systems.
  • Graco and industry design standards.
  • Graco Quality Management System.
  • Graco customer applications and requirements.
  • Emerging trends in our customers' markets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring to Graco

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer or software engineering or computer science or equivalent field.
  • 0+ years of experience in new product development with demonstrated ability to produce results
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good engineering/technical aptitude with the ability to be an effective contributor to product development or standard product support activities.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation.  If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience.  In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees.  Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role.  Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
