Job Duties


The Department of Technology at Norfolk State University seeks candidates for an adjunct faculty position in Computer/Electronics Engineering Technology, beginning August 2023. The Department is fully accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering(ATMAE). The Department offers an Associate in Science degree in Architectural Drafting, and the Bachelor’s in Science degree in Construction Management Engineering Technology; Computer Engineering Technology; and Electronics Engineering Technology.

The successful candidate will:
1. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses including digital electronics, electronic devices, electronic circuits, computer networks, wireless communications systems, industrial control systems, programmable logic controllers, and embedded systems/micro-controllers.
2. Contribute to program and curriculum development.
3. Advise/mentor students and participate in recruitment activities.
4. Demonstrate self-motivation to engage with industry on applied research projects.
5. Participate in ongoing assessment and accreditation activities.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by department chair.

Minimum Qualifications


1. An earned B.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or closely
related field.
2. An earned M.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or closely
related field.
3. Demonstrates considerable communication skills; and must have a strong
commitment to teaching excellence and proven ability to work collaboratively with
others.


Preferred Qualifications:


1. An earned Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. candidate in Electrical, Electronics, Computer
Engineering or closely related field.
2. Experience in teaching on the higher education level, P.E. licensure, and ABET accreditation experience.
3. Have relevant Industrial experience
