The ICTEAM institute of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) is actively seeking an
electrical engineer to provide support to the measurement activities in its electrical characterization
platform named WELCOME, and contribute to its development.

WELCOME is a state-of-the art technological platform providing multidisciplinary tools in the field of
electrical and electromagnetic characterization. In WELCOME over one hundred researchers perform
thousands of hours of experiments per year. They benefit from a powerful range of equipment and an
exceptional pool of expertise in the field of micro- and nanotechnologies, RF and microwave circuits,
digital systems and VLSI architectures, cryptography, ultra-low power wireless sensors, signal
propagation and wireless communications. This expertise also attracts numerous industrial
collaborations and the infrastructure constantly performs measurement missions for external partners.

Due to several recent project wins, the WELCOME infrastructure is currently in an expanding phase and
is acquiring several new pieces of equipment related to on-wafer device and circuit characterization. The
WELCOME management team is therefore actively seeking a suitable candidate to provide support to
measurement activities as well as contribute to the further development of the facilities. The selected
candidate will work under the supervision of the WELCOME manager and interact daily with the users of
WELCOME as well as the academic personnel in charge of the infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:
• provide support to the installation and handling of new measurement setups in WELCOME (onwafer
measurement setups, THz Time-Domain Spectroscopy test bench, …);
• acquire the required know-how to adequately use the new measurement tools, establish new
measurement procedures, and train new users;
• provide support to WELCOME users by assisting and/or performing measurements;
• contribute to the further development of the WELCOME platform (e.g., meeting with industrial
partners and understanding their needs, attending international fairs, …).

Position requirements:
• industrial or civil engineering degree with a specialization in the field of electrical engineering;
• high sense of curiosity and interest for new technologies;
• demonstrated autonomy and good communication skills;
• fluency in English and French;
• familiarity with RF/microwave measurement techniques and technologies is considered as an
asset;
• flexibility for occasional travels.

Practical information:
Fixed length contract (until December 31st 2025, possibilities for extension), full time employment.
Starting date: ASAP.
Location: Louvain-la-Neuve.
