Airswift is looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to work for a major LNG Client in Houston, for an initial 1-year assignment. Primary Purpose The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing technical assurance and guidance during the development and detailed design phases of the regasification, liquefaction, infrastructure, and renewable projects being developed by the company. The Senior Electrical Engineer evaluates EPC Contractor designs of low and medium voltage generation and distribution systems to ensure the designs are safe, fit-for-purpose and meet industry codes and project specifications. The electrical scope of the project consists of transformers, generators, UPS systems, protection systems MCC's, junction boxes, raceway, power and control cables and terminations and electric motors. This role is also responsible for ensuring that all electrical equipment is designed, purchased, inspected, and installed safely and performs to the requirements of the design. The Senior Electrical Engineer monitors the construction and installation of electrical equipment including setting and assembly of transformers, switchgear, raceway, pulling and terminating of cables and commissioning. o Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities Estimated % of Time • Participates in assigned phases of the technical development and implementation of electrical systems associated with the project. Coordinates the electrical design development as well as preparation of data, documentation, reports, and schedules required to support construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations. 15% • Supports project development efforts by performing technical reviews of engineering documents and drawings. Provides input on electrical design documents and technical specifications; identifies efficient construction techniques to support value engineering efforts. 10% • Performs quality assurance reviews of EPC Contractor's deliverables, material/equipment selections and inspects installation to ensure compliance with applicable acceptance criteria, codes, and standards. 10% • Participates in project design meetings, reviews and workshops including HAZOP reviews. 10% • Monitors and provides project status updates to project management and project development, including relevant conditions and activities that may impact the development, completion or performance of project and facilities. 10% • Assists in contract development, develops bidding documents and recommends contract awards. 10% • May travel to manufacturing facilities to inspect assembly of electrical equipment and attend factory testing. Observes installation of electrical materials, equipment, and systems at project sites. 10% • Supports project construction efforts by monitoring construction plans and procedures, reviewing submittals, inspection, and test reports for conformance with project documents and specifications. 10% • Effectively applies knowledge of safe-work processes and procedures to ensure the electrical design and implementation is safe. 10% • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). 5% o Fiscal/Budget Responsibilities o Education Education Level Major/Description Required/ Preferred Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering Required o Experience Years of Experience Details Required/ Preferred 3 Field construction experience Required 8 Experience in the Energy or LNG Industry Preferred Knowledge of IEEE Standards and National Electrical Code Required Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze electrical and mechanical drawings such as single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, relay protection diagrams, as well as short circuit studies including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs), and experience with ETAP software for calculations.
