We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Advanced Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in power supply and power systems and substantial experience in Department of Defense (DoD) projects. The successful candidate will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced electrical systems for defense and aerospace applications. This position involves solving complex engineering challenges, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring projects meet stringent DoD standards and mission requirements. This is a 3 month contract to hire and offers 2-3 days of remote work per week.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership:
Lead the design and development of complex power supply systems, including AC/DC and DC/DC converters, power distribution systems, and energy storage solutions.
Define and refine technical requirements, ensuring alignment with DoD specifications and project objectives.
Serve as a subject matter expert in power electronics and system integration, providing guidance to engineering teams.
2. Design and Development:
Oversee system modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Design and validate high-reliability and ruggedized power systems for harsh operating environments.
Lead efforts in EMI/EMC design and testing, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-461 and related standards.
3. Testing and Validation:
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and system-level validation.
Identify and resolve design and performance issues through hands-on troubleshooting and analysis.
4. Program Management Support:
Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to define project schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and progress updates to DoD customers and internal teams.
5. Mentorship and Collaboration:
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineering, to achieve integrated system solutions.
