SERVICES SUPERVISOR
JOB SUMMARY: Supervises work crews installing solar photovoltaic systems, and supervises electrical equipment manufacturing, such as electric motors, radar and navigation systems, communications systems, or power generation equipment. Ensures a strict safety program and logs to assure zero accident compliance in the service department. Promotes services to achieve and exceed service department revenues and growth. Assists the company in the preparation of technical conferences for engineers and design firms from a service capability standpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinator and make sure procurement take place with the parts department, for all the materials, tools, and equipment for the different job sites. Plan, manage procurement and execute any work that is required outside of PR.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
- Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial and industrial or environmental standards.
- Direct or coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
- Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment.
- Estimate labor, material, or construction costs for budget preparation purposes.
- Prepare and maintain communication with the customer as to the work performed to make sure the company exceeds the customerβs expectations.
- Design electrical systems or components that minimize electric energy requirements, such as lighting systems designed to account for natural lighting.
- Plan layout of electric power generating plants or distribution lines or stations.
- Manage service department personnel to guarantee that service reports, production reports, etc., are submitted to customers and properly signed.Β Make sure these reports arrive daily with the accounting department to make sure invoices are generated when jobs are completed as reflected by the service report.
- Maintain a periodic training program for the sales and service personnel and recommend the latest tools and equipment that will help improve service department performance and effectiveness.
- Aid the accounting department in the collectionβs efforts making sure that all work is backed by a purchase order and make sure that change orders are generated when needed in a timely manner.
- Examine and maintain in good working order the vehicle fleet and fixed asset equipment.
- Supervise or train project team members as necessary.
REQUIREMENTES:
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering, electrical engineering preferred.
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish) with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Able to estimate and prepare service proposals and contracts, technical evaluations, and deliver technical product presentations.
- Experience in supervision of photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions; Installation of module array interconnect wiring, implementing measures to disable arrays during installation.
