Responsibilities






Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineer) to provide technical leadership and management support for a program that delivers a broad range of engineering and scientific services to a national level customer.  

 

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering theory, design, and industry best practices and should be comfortable working on behalf of the government customer with limited oversight

 

Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life-cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).

 

In this role, the Senior Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineer) will be responsible for supporting our client's mission goals and strategic objectives. In this position, the candidate acts as an advocate for the government customer as an authority on the architecture designed, CONOPS, and mission requirements.

 

The Senior Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineer) is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Shall acts as an advocate for the government customer as an authority on the architecture designed, CONOPS, and mission requirements. 
  • Provide technical leadership and management support for a program that delivers a broad range of engineering and scientific services to a national level customer. 
  • Responsible for supporting our client's mission goals and strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for providing technical guidance for the management of design, development, and production of disparate efforts and initiatives and will help guide the integration, test, and deployment of developed systems.   
  • Independently lead multiple efforts from initial concept through completion and also represent the Government in a number of various forums.  
  • Oversee the engineering activities of component developers, verify the capabilities and interfaces of developed products, support system test and deployment activities for fielded system(s). 
  • Oversee product acceptance testing and conduct sell-off/acceptance reviews
  • Perform hands on functional testing of software defined radios and remote sensors
  • Plan and execute field testing exercises
  • Collaborate with sponsor organization to generate product specifications and requirements
  • Work with contractors on behalf of Sponsor to develop end to end mission solutions
  • Work with product developers (generally prime contractors)  to ensure products are developed to sponsors' requirements, budget and timeline
  • Provide resolution of technical aspects between Sponsor and Developers
  • Conduct domestic Travel up to 1 week/month

Travel Requirement:

 

**While this role will accomplish most tasks On-site, Monday-Friday. Domestic travel up (<25%) is expected, and will be directed by the customer**









Qualifications






Required Qualifications: 

 

  • An active/current Top Secret/SCI with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field and 12 years of relevant experience; or a Masters Degree and 10 years of relevant experience; or a PhD and seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong a strong understanding of electrical engineering theory, design, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development, testing, and production of electronic systems and/or sensors to deployed to the field.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in pursuit organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing, and ability to brief complex technical information to non-experts.
  • Ability to perform and understand Link Budget Analysis.
  • Ability to independently write systems engineering documents (CONOPs, SRDs, Test Plan, etc.).
  • Knowledge of a variety of RF modulation including, but not limited to, PSK, FSK, DSSS.
  • Knowledge of Antenna design and radiation pattern testing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Familiar with NTM.
  • Familiar with MatLab and Spectrum Analyzers.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 1 week/month.

Desired Qualifications:  

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 15 years of relevant experience, or Masters Degree and 13 years of relevant experience, PhD and nine (9) years of relevant experience.
  • Background in Signal processing.
  • Ability to work within and across multi-discipline teams to ensure interfaces are thoroughly defined, properly designed, and correctly implemented.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community (IC) organizations and experience working across multiple organizations within the IC.
  • Prior experience as a SETA.

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
