TCOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join our innovative team specializing in tethered Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The successful candidate will have at least a BS degree in Engineering and at least 10 years of RF design experience, preferably in the aviation, defense and/or intelligence industry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with a multi-disciplined design team, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, systems engineers, software engineers, signal processing engineers, and scientists, to develop cutting-edge RF sensor systems. This role involves designing, building, and testing communication systems comprising RF components such as LNAs, PAs, filters, and antennas. The RF Engineer will be responsible for executing RF system tests to meet customer requirements, documenting designs, and conducting RF characterization and measurements. A solid understanding of antenna theory and RF principles, coupled with hands-on experience with industry-standard test equipment, is essential. The candidate will also participate in business development efforts and stay updated with the latest advancements in RF technology to enhance our product competitiveness.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years demonstrated RF design experience, preferably in the aviation, defense and/or intelligence industry.
• Understanding and demonstrated implementation of RF cascade analysis to be able to trade gain, noise figure and linearity as part of system design.
• Experience in RF theory and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems.
• Experience using standard lab equipment such as an oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, power supplies etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex ideas clearly.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Must have an active DOD Secret clearance.
