The Project

CPB Contractors, in Alliance partnership with Sedgman, SC Joint Venture (SCJV) has been selected by BHP to undertake the Western Ridge Crusher Project, involving construction of a new primary crusher, a 12-kilometre overland conveyor, radial stacker, and associated stockpiling systems, with a capacity of 30Mtpa. The Project is located on Nyiyaparli Country, approximately 21 Kilometers southwest of Newman, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.  Works are commencing now and will go through until mid-2026.  

The Opportunity

As the Electrical Senior Project Engineer, you will be an integral member of the project team by effectively coordinating design, procurement and construction elements of the Electrical and Instrumentation scope for successful delivery of the Western Ridge Crusher project. This is a FIFO project working a 2/1 roster.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and monitoring the completion of the project to ensure program, budget, quality, environmental and contractual obligations are achieved safely, taking prompt corrective action where required
  • Reviewing design and construction plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and job safety analysis and quality
  • Effectively assigning tasks to project team members to deliver the required outputs to agreed specifications
  • Monitoring KPIs and productivity analysis against programe and budget as well as undertaking other administrative duties as required
  • Mentoring Project, Site and Graduate Engineers

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Previous experience at a Senior Project Engineer level managing E&I works
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast paced project environment and deliver on deadlines
  • Hold proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Focus and commitment to a zero harm environment
