Natron is seeking a Senior Electronical Engineer to support the full product cycle of its high-power battery systems for Data Center UPS and EV charging applications. The occupant of this position will work in a team of engineers to solve technical challenges associated with our energy storage products from initial prototyping to volume manufacturing. He or she will design, test, and validate power electronics boards, battery module configurations, power protection circuits, and battery management systems. This person is a passionate, creative, goal-oriented engineer who is comfortable with developing new concepts and designs. This position requires extensive hands-on work and a do-whatever-it-takes attitude to get the job done. Position level and compensation commensurate with experience and background.

Responsibilities

    • Understanding of industry and customer application requirements, and translating these into product design specifications.
    • Formulate and specify product test requirements, especially as they relate to the electronics of the system.
    • Cradle-to-grave ownership of electronic board designs for Natron’s product line of high-powered battery systems.
    • Design and test,  small signal electronic boards and subsystems to meet UL, telecom, and data center compliance requirements, in partnership with certification engineering team.
    • Document designs with engineering models, Schematics, BOM, simulation models and theory of operation.
    • Provide relevant mathematical analyses, Simulation and Electrical models for the Designs developed.
    • Work with Operations and Manufacturing Teams to meet cost targets and DFM through optimized design of electrical components and systems.
    • Assist mechanical engineers with the physical layout of PCBs to fit into enclosure.
    • Participate in FMEA for product designs.

Experience and Skills

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
    • Over 5 years of experience in the design of electronic components / electrical systems 
    • Experience with BMS, Sensor designs, Digital processor design, Filter designs & Serial Interface designs is required..
    • Experience with high speed, multi-layer PCB design and assembly with proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., OrCAD, Altium Designer, PSpice, LTSpice, MATLAB, Simulink) for schematic capture, circuit simulation, layout & electrical system modeling.
    • Experience with EMI/EMC design, validation testing, ESD and latch-up testing, and/or functional safety (i.e., fail-safe design).
    • Prior experience supporting UL, CSA, or equivalent certification processes is a plus.
    • Demonstrated experience working successfully with an engineering team  and other stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with Product development phases and engineering change processes.
    • Experience with taking designs going into commercial production.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation/Pay Transparency

    • Disclaimer: The actual salary of a successful applicant may vary from posted ranges based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity and alignment with market data, and other legitimate business reasons, including, but not limited to, compliance with applicable immigration law prevailing wages.
    • In addition, Natron Energy has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Plan with Match, Life Insurance, Parental Leave Benefits, Discretionary Time Off (DTO) and Paid Time Off (PTO) for Exempt and Non-Exempt employees respectively, and 10 paid holidays.
    • The salary range for this position is a minimum of $151,000 and a maximum of $178,000 annually.
