In Australia, our team consists of over 2,150 highly skilled staff, engineers and professionals specialising in quality control inspection, risk assessment, testing, certification, engineering, condition monitoring, and asset management of plant and equipment.
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in either our Brisbane office in Murarrie or our Melbourne office in the CBD. In this role, you will enhance our engineering and support services by collaborating closely with key clients in sectors such as mining, oil and gas, power and utilities, and renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and approve designs for electrical installations
Verify compliance of electrical installations
Provide third-party verification of the design, fabrication, or installation of electrical systems
Offer consultancy and advisory services on all electrical discipline-related questions
Consult with clients on regulatory requirements for electrical systems
Manage QA/QC inspections of electrical installations and their FAT/SAT inspections
Prepare high-quality reports
Transfer knowledge to colleagues
Identify market opportunities and develop our service portfolio/roadmap
Demonstrate a strong interest in project management and client consulting
Required Skills:
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
A minimum of 7 years of industry experience
Chartered Status or eligibility to apply for it within one year
Strong analytical skills
Ability to communicate confidently at all levels
Focused on processes and procedures
Highly skilled in report writing
Required Experience:
Experience as an electrical design engineer in the FEED and EPC phases of projects, preferably within the oil and gas, mining, or renewable energy sectors
Hands-on experience in the design of electrical systems
Proficient with AS 3000 and AS 60079 standards
Experience in electrical design for HVAC/HVDC systems, substations, cables and interconnectors, LV and HV systems, cable sizing, cable management systems, motor controls, and switchboards
Advanced knowledge of EEHA management in MHF facilities
Professional experience with electrical systems in the energy industry
Primarily gained experience in the oil and gas and mining sectors, but candidates with renewable energy experience will also be considered
Strong advising and networking skills, with a clear client focus
