Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has an excellent opportunity for an RF Engineer, Principal (Radar) . This individual will perform engineering functions to design, develop, modify, integrate, and test new subsystems on mono-pulse tracking radars on the Western Test Range. This position will lead an engineering team with the technical aspects of projects and support multi-disciplined project teams.
Venturi is a subcontractor to a company that operates, maintains, and sustains mission-critical systems to provide safe and effective launch, testing, and tracking of Department of Defense, civil, commercial, and international space lift vehicles.We support ballistic missile, guided weapon, and aeronautical tests and evaluations as well as support space situational awareness operations and experiments to defend the United States to ensure our nation’s safety. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute new capabilities used by tracking radars.
Perform complex system modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solution.
Plan, conduct, and assist the project manager in the execution of engineering projects.
Coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel for assigned projects.
Analyze, develop, recommend, and implement approaches to meet customer requirements. Serve as an interface for project information to internal management and the customers.
Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Provide expertise to restore operational systems.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or another STEM-related field.
5+ years of relevant radar engineering experience to include:
Experience working with RF, including local oscillators, doublers, mixers, and attenuators.
Working knowledge of monopulse radar tracking systems and/or shipboard radar systems is a plus.
Experience working with high-power tube and solid-state RF amplifiers.
Experience with C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems is desired.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiar with legacy range radar types (AN/FPQ-6, AN/FPQ-14, AN/FPS-16, etc.) is desired.
Working knowledge of antenna tracking systems.
Experience with digital interface design, including familiarization with interface modules, cable/wire types, and connector systems.
Experience with hardware systems integration and testing.
Experience providing inputs for engineering project proposals within defined time constraints.
Proficient in the use of specialized test equipment including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
Proficient in technical writing for development of technical reports, White Papers, and other technical support documentation.
Experience with computer systems including single-board (SBCs), servers, and workstations.
Familiarization with the Linux and Windows Operating systems.
Proficient with M/S Office tool suite and CAD software.
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
Ability to effectively communicate technical issues verbally and through written media, like graphical slides and verbal presentations to management and customers.
Ability to read and create wire diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects.
Good human relations and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external support personnel and to guide less experienced engineers.
Ability to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment with time constraints.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
