Job Description

Our client, Enemalta is seeking a qualified Professional Executive (Electrical Engineer) to manage, coordinate, and optimize operations, maintenance, and projects related to electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies to achieve high operational efficiency.

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible to:

  • Manage electrical projects, power distribution, protection, and control systems, ensuring all operations comply with Health & Safety (H&S) legislation and Enemalta policies;
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement projects within the scope of electrical engineering. Lead teams of professionals and technical staff to achieve Enemalta’s operational objectives;
  • Design and advise on electrical power systems, prepare specifications and contract documents, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to company and legal standards;
  • Develop and supervise regular maintenance schedules, carry out site work, oversee system performance, conduct performance appraisals, and ensure that emissions comply with legal limits;
  • Maintain accurate records, issue permits, draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and prepare reports as required by management and external agencies; and,
  • Stay current with technological developments, lead problem-solving initiatives, and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at MQF level 6 (minimum 180 credits), meeting the requirements to apply for an engineering warrant under the Inġiniera Act Cap 321;
  • Relevant experience in electrical engineering, project management, or the management of technical personnel; and,
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must hold a valid Group B driving license.

Training & Development:
Enemalta will provide adequate training for any duties outside of the Professional Executive’s current competencies.

Organisational Relationships:
Reports to the Section Manager or delegate as designated by Senior Management.
