About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Electrical Engineering, this role is responsible for technical leadership advising, supporting, and leading the design and asset management function of new and existing assets for both Fremantle & Kwinana Ports. This includes technical assurance for all assets and systems, ensuring they are safe to operate and maintain and comply with statutory requirements and codes of practice.

Key duties include:

  • Act as the delegated technical authority within the discipline of Electrical Engineering and own the Specifications and Technical Guidelines for the electrical discipline.
  • Deliver a program of continuous improvement and the development of fit for purpose technical guidelines and specifications covering design, construction, operation, maintenance, disposal.
  • Implement continuous improvements to risk management, safety practices and operations.
  • Provide technical support for the review of Development Applications, commercial agreements and business cases.
  • Manage consultants and delivery teams engaged for studies, design, and other projects.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive professional engineering services delivery, project engineering/project management experience.
  • Strong experience in leading the analysis of existing and/or proposed assets and facilities to evaluate effectiveness and provide recommendation.
  • High level of experience in the design and management of electrical equipment as used in hazardous areas that include gas vapours and dust.
  • High level of experienced with HV & LV distribution networks.
  • Experience in writing tender scopes of work for engineering services and related scopes for delivery of projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements, regulation and national standards associated with ports, maritime infrastructure and dangerous goods.
