Position: Principal Electrical Engineer (Medical Device)

Location: Greater Boston/Southern New Hampshire (on-site Tues-Fri; remote Mon & Fri)

*Compensation: $140-160K salary, bonus plus benefits

The Principal Electrical Engineer is a self-starter who can play a key contributor role within our hardware development team. In this role you will plan, analyze and implement the designs and improvements to the electrical systems in products to achieve product performance goals and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as an electrical design engineer on product development
  • Direct experience developing within a regulated environment (Medical, Aerospace, Military); Medical Device preferred
  • Experience with CAD tools including schematic capture and PCB design
  • Familiarity with regulations governing electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility and the activities necessary to achieve IEC 60601 certification
  • Experience with communication interfaces, including I2C, SPI, UART, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • Experience with controls for Stepper and/or BLDC motors, actuators, sensors, and data
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools, such as PSpice
  • Experience with software tools including ORCAD Capture and Allegro PCB

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed signal, and power circuits
  • Prototype, debug, troubleshoot, and rework while maintaining quality technical documentation.
  • Build and test prototypes to verify design function
  • Work with both internal and external resources during design, prototyping, and transfer to manufacturing activities
  • Support verification and validation activities for the system
  • Perform and document failure analysis of returned product
