Job Description

What will you be doing? 

Step into the fast-paced world of electric vehicles with ALTEN LTD! We're seeking a Junior Power Electronics Engineer to work on next-generation driveline components, including inverters and AC-DC/AC-AC systems, for cutting-edge automotive applications. This role places you at the forefront of innovation, ensuring the reliability and safety of power electronics in high-performance electric drivetrains. Collaborate with experts in the field, conduct rigorous testing, and play a critical role in shaping the future of automotive technology.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Failure Mode Analysis: Conduct Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify and address risks during early product development.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) standards, maintaining top-tier quality for driveline components.
  • Testing and Validation: Create and execute comprehensive Design Verification Plans (DVP) to validate the performance and reliability of power electronics systems.
  • Functional Safety: Apply ISO26262 standards to incorporate functional safety in the design and development of electric drivetrain components.
  • Driveline Expertise: Leverage knowledge of electric drives, automatic gearboxes, and transmission systems to enhance overall driveline efficiency and performance.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Manage and present test plans while coordinating with stakeholders (software, hardware, and rig teams) to deliver successful testing outcomes.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Degree in Engineering: Preferably Electrical, Electronics, or related fields.
  • Expertise in Driveline Components: Knowledge of inverters, AC-AC, and AC-DC systems is essential.
  • Testing and Safety Standards: Proficiency in DVP creation, DFMEA, and ISO26262 functional safety standards.
  • Power Electronics Knowledge: Strong understanding of power electronics and high-voltage systems.
  • Collaborative Skills: Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate test outcomes effectively.
