behalf of our Client we are seeking a highly experienced and innovative
Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and implementation for
commercial, industrial, institutional residential building projects across Alberta. This role requires a proven track
record in electrical systems design, project management, and client
collaboration. You will mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with Alberta
Building Codes, and deliver sustainable, energy-efficient solutions for
mixed-use and commercial properties.
Requirements
Key
Responsibilities:
- Lead
and oversee the electrical design process for commercial building projects,
including lighting systems, power distribution, fire alarms and communication systems.
- Collaborate
with architects, mechanical engineers, and construction teams to ensure
seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Review
and approve single line diagrams (SDL''s), panel schedules, load calculations.
- Develop
and manage construction documentation, including detailed electrical layouts,
specifications, and material selection.
- Ensure
all designs comply with Alberta Building Code, CSA standards, and other
applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage
project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, maintaining high-quality
standards throughout.
- Conduct
site visits to monitor progress, identify issues, and provide solutions during
construction and commissioning phases.
- Mentor
and guide junior engineers and EITs, fostering their professional growth and
technical skills.
- Promote
innovation by integrating energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy
systems into projects.
- Build
and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and
ensuring satisfaction.
Qualifications
and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation with APEGA or eligibility for registration.
- 8+ years in electrical engineering, with a focus on commercial
building projects.
- Proficiency
in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical modeling software.
- In-depth
knowledge of BC Building Codes, CSA standards, and energy codes.
- Familiarity
with green building certifications (LEED, WELL, etc.) is an asset.
- Strong project management capabilities and excellent communication and
technical writing skills.
