Job Description

CIMA+’s Infrastructure team combines top-notch skills with an intimate understanding of the local community to deliver customized infrastructure services for municipalities and real-estate developers. We have delivered hundreds of projects across Canada, including innovative solutions for the full spectrum of water and wastewater assets, on time and on budget.  We support clients from start to finish, whether for building brand new or assessing, repairing, and expanding on existing infrastructure. We are currently looking for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for our Kitchener or Mississauga office, to support our dynamic Infrastructure group that is rapidly expanding in Ontario. Bowmanville, Ottawa, London, Guelph or Burlington office work locations will also be considered.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary design team, reporting to the Project Manager and supporting the Lead Electrical Engineer.
  • Develop electrical power distribution system designs, including single-line diagrams, site power layouts, overcurrent protection, emergency power generation, lighting layouts, and power distribution plans.
  • Assist in developing Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs for SCADA systems, including control panels, P&IDs, process control narratives, I/O lists, instrument selections, network diagrams, and communication panels.
  • Prepare designs, calculations, plans, specifications, and contract documents for municipal building services, particularly for water and wastewater facilities, covering power distribution, motor controls, lighting, general distribution, communications, and security systems.
  • Participate in fieldwork and site visits, including investigations, studies, inspections, and reviews of electrical distribution and I&C shop drawings, as well as life safety and communications systems.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience in water/wastewater or industrial projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Candidates who are in the process of obtaining their P.Eng. or nearing completion of the requirements may also be considered.
  • Experience with site work, detailed design, and project engineering in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact with clients to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to contribute to the growth of the business.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
