Job Description

Contribute to the development activities of the Hardware Engineering team. Undertake independent detailed electronic design tasks in collaboration with other members of the team. Support product sustaining activities.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design electronic devices that achieve all defined product requirements (including unit cost targets).
  • Careful consideration for Design for Manufacture / Assembly / Service.
  • Ensure that development projects follow the defined New Product Development process and are driven to completion with a sense of urgency.
  • Act with a sense of urgency in response to quality issues discovered in production or the field.
  • Explore opportunities to add additional innovative features above and beyond those explicitly being requested, which can delight the customer.
  • Where appropriate, ensure that electronic circuit designs leverage previous designs to save on development and validation effort as well as commonising on already stocked components.
  • Work with Production Engineers to deploy newly designed products into the production line.
  • Develop comprehensive user facing documentation (eg. Product User Manuals, Specification Sheets, Field Notices, etc.)
  • Contribute to the Hardware Product Roadmaps.
  • Support Field Application Engineers and Aftermarket Technicians with diagnostic procedures for root causing field issues relating to Hardware Products.
  • Provide pre-sales assistance to Sales Personal and Field Application Engineers on possible solutions to customer requirements and pain points.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
