Position: Electronics Engineer - Electronic Avionics Hardware Design
Location: Innovative Advantage, Inc. in Kirkland, WA

What you will do:
  • Develop hardware and system architecture and conduct system design and development for flight aircraft audio, video, and distribution systems (AVDS).
  • Test computer system operation to ensure proper functioning, including system testing and certification.
  • Conduct electronics circuit reliability analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA), mean time between failures (MTBF) and Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Execute system, hardware verification, and integration, and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) verification and in-circuit testing.
  • Develop models of information and communication systems.
  • Perform system design and testing for Electromagnetic interference (EMI) / electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compatibility.
  • Document design and development procedures.
  • Prototype, evaluate, and identify new technologies.
  • Ensure process improvement and compliance, participate in technical design discussion and to review technical documents.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues, including escalations for the delivery of the program.
  • Design printed circuit boards (PCB) for EMI/EMC compliance using DxDesigner and PADs.
  • Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 20%; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company’s office in Kirkland, Washington.

Required Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and three years of experience in programming and designing flight aircraft electronics products.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and three years of experience in programming and designing flight aircraft electronics products, employer will accept five years of experience in programming and designing flight aircraft electronics products.
  •  Experience must include:
    • Conducting electronics circuit reliability analysis, FMEA, FMECA, MTBF and Fault Tree Analysis;
    • Performing system design and testing for EMI/EMC compatibility as per international standards;
    • Executing system, hardware verification, and integration, and FPGA Verification and in-circuit testing; and
    • Designing printed circuit boards (PCB) for EMI/EMC compliance using DxDesigner and PADs.
Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
Telecommuting permitted up to 20%; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company’s office in Kirkland, Washington.

Compensation:
  • Electronics Engineer - Electronic Avionics Hardware Design: $160,000 to $180,000 per year
