Job Description

The Electrical Engineering Trainee / Designer will support the design and drafting of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of hands-on experience, a strong understanding of AutoCAD, and a keen interest in enhancing their engineering/design expertise in the industrial, mining or related industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, drafting, and detailing of electrical systems for industrial or mining projects using AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and designers to develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and layout plans.
  • Prepare electrical drawings for project construction, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, calculations, and reports.
  • Participate in the coordination of design activities with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring all electrical design aspects are aligned with the overall project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent technical training).
  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical design and drafting, preferably in industrial, mining or related environments.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D and 3D drafting) for electrical design.
  • Familiarity with electrical design standards and regulations specific to industrial or mining.
  • Strong analytical, computer, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid Class G drivers license.
