Serpa Packaging Solutions is looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to join our growing organization! As the Electrical Engineering Manager with Serpa, you will leading our Electrical Engineering department team in the complete design and programming of custom automated packaging equipment that meet customer requirements. Programming can include the integration of auxiliary equipment, such as robotics, vision systems, labelers and other devices.

Requirements:
- Manage, schedule work, and provide instruction to Electrical Engineering department team
- Personnel management of Electrical Engineering department team, which includes interviewing, hiring, training and development, succession, disciplining, and termination
- Review and implement customer requirement specifications
- Lead technical direction to complete electrical equipment and programming specifications for packaging machine orders
- Ability to design electrical and pneumatic schematics, compile purchased parts lists;
- PLC/HMI programming and Software debugging
- Assist with equipment commissioning and debugging
- Work with customers to validate equipment
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineering Manager, Assembly, Service and all other departments staff, project teams and participate in activities related to the development of new projects
- Participate in evaluation of new customer/business opportunities; support concurrent Engineering activities to drive New Business growth
- Work with Sales for bids and proposals, electrical cost estimating, as well as developing new machine concepts
- Learn and meet company quality standards and objectives to successfully fulfill customers’ needs
- Ensure the completion of project milestones within deadlines and budgets
- Develop a strong relationship with Serpa Packaging customers through customer service, knowledge of equipment, and good communication skills
- Determine customer needs, as well as predetermination of any needs that the project team may have throughout all phases of the project “life cycle”
- Ability to travel to customer facilities for site installations and service if needed (10 - 15%)
Desired Requirements:
- BS. in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or a combination of education and/or experience in machine controls automation
- Minimum of 5 years experience in machine controls automation
- Previous management experience or experience in a lead role desired, but not required
- Must have exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies
- PLC & HMI programming experience
- Electrical hardware and CAD schematic design experience
- Sensor integration experience desired
- Mechanical aptitude and self-motivated
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped spaces.
- Physical effort that may include the lifting of supplies and materials that weigh up to 20 pounds.

Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $175,000
