Your Day-to-Day:
As an Electrical Intern, at our Burlington, Ontario facility, you will work on a variety of technical and engineering assignments including design, drafting, and implementation of electrical, instrumentation and controls projects (Capital, Expense, Development) under the guidance of engineers. Starting Fall 2024.
Your Key Responsibilities/Qualifications
• Design and optimization of control systems and software related to electrical and mechanical systems
• Identify suppliers of electro-mechanical components
• Develop electrical schematics and detailed manufacturing drawings per the Westinghouse Quality Manual
• Develop software and related documentation (as applicable)
• Support electrical and/or mechanical assembly of developed systems
• Support the development of component specifications and purchasing requests
• Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Assist with the development of test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specifications
• Assist with the operation of the final tooling system in the customer facilities
Who you are:
• Electrical engineering or mechatronics engineering degree eligibility
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and time management skills
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledge
• Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software
• Self-motivated and highly organized
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical
• A background with practical skills developed through jobs, school teams or personal interest are highly valued.
