Position Overview






Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity to participate in our on-site summer internship. The team is seeking an Electrical Engineer intern that can join the team for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and will be gain experience Electrical Engineering.









Responsibilities & Qualifications






Responsibilities

  • Learn about industrial machinery, motor controls, software programming, and state of art PLC systems.
  • Provide support for various Electrical Engineering Projects.
  • Perform engineering drawing modifications.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of industrial manufacturing equipment including aluminum rolling lines, mobile equipment, and furnaces.
  • Work under the supervision of staff engineers on control plans, system testing, and machine commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University
  • Must obtain the classification Junior or Senior
  • Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employee

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer students majoring in degree Electrical Engineer or related fields
  • Fully committed to engage in safe working practices
  • Driven to learn new processes & procedures
  • Willing to work as part of a team to achieve safety, quality, and performance goals.

For this role, the pay is from $23.00 USD / hour. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance.









Location Profile






Novelis’ Oswego facility is located on Lake Ontario in north-central New York and employs approximately 1100 people. The Oswego site produces more than a billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet each year in order to serve our customers in the automotive beverage can and specialty markets.
