Role Summary:

This position has the responsibility to maintain the testability of test resources for the EPC-EE department.  This includes the hardware and software levels, the installation and maintenance of data logging equipment, the bring-up/onboarding of new vehicle and bench resources, and the inventory management to support these activities.

Role Responsibilities:

Test Vehicle and Bench Maintenance – (100%)

·        Maintains a fleet of test vehicles with the latest software and hardware levels.

·        Maintains test benches and simulators with the latest levels and preparation for the testing activities.

·        Maintains data tracing/logging equipment installation in vehicles, and if needed, sources new equipment that meets project needs

·        Manages department testing material inventory, including the budgeting and invoice management of test material orders

Qualifications:

Years of Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with automotive electronic system testing

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent - required
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering - desired

Skills:

·        Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic

·        Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written

·        Computer savvy – skilled in the use of software

·        Integration – joining people, processes or systems

·        Influencing and negotiation skills

·        Resource management

·       German skills written and verbal are advantageous

Specialized Skills - Required:

·        Experience with automotive control modules

·        Experience with automotive control module root cause analysis

·        Understanding of vehicle communication networks and the ability to capture

Specialized Skills - Desired:

·        Experience testing/releasing full vehicle electrical systems (module and functional testing)

·        Experience with Volkswagen electronics control modules

·        Ability to trouble-shoot communication breakdowns within the network by analyzing the network communication

Work Flexibility:

·        Frequently traveling to the suppliers and the R&D department in Wolfsburg, Germany

·        Frequent road testing consisting of 1-2 weeks on the road
