Reports to: Plant Manager/Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Systems and Maintenance:
  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems for ferro alloy plants, including substations, distribution networks, and electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential electrical hazards and recommend maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
Power Distribution and Control:
  • Design and implement power distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and motor control centers.
  • Configure and program electrical control systems, such as PLCs and SCADA.
  • Optimize electrical power consumption and reduce energy costs.
Electrical Projects and Upgrades:
  • Manage electrical projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Prepare project reports, schedules, and budgetary estimates.
Instrumentation and Automation:
  • Design and implement instrumentation and automation systems, including sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
  • Configure and program process control systems, such as DCS and PLC.
  • Ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
Safety and Quality:
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures.
  • Monitor and control quality parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and flow.
Training and Team Management:
  • Supervise and train junior engineers, technicians, and electricians.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
