Job purpose

To provide assistance with Electrical Engineering for CDE/8-koi; a diverse Florida-based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over 15-years. Electrical Engineer IV consultant is a key member of the engineering team responsible for designing and drawing of electrical and fire alarm systems for a variety of projects. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and construction personnel to provide engineering services for the full life cycle of projects, from conceptual planning to completed construction.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, interpret, execute the site visit data and document all the tasks.
  • Develop designs and construction documents, including electrical site lighting, site grounding, panel schedules, one-line diagrams, preparation of permit applications, material testing, drawings, specifications, and CAD work.
  • Formulates and solves problems to accommodate the client’s requirements and responsible for project quality assurance.
  • Strong ability to prioritize while utilizing time management skills in meeting deadlines.
  • Self-driven and motivated to complete work as assigned with minimal oversight.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
  • Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, submittals and schedules for projects.
  • Prepares proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
  • Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and related Building Codes
  • Strong Work Ethic with an Affinity for Rapid Learning to contribute to team efforts and accomplish desired results.
  • Able to mentor junior engineers.

Applicant is also responsible for maintaining 8-koi / CDE Company Standards and Practices.

Expected to be true β€œteam players” realizing that their contributions affect the successful outcome of projects and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Licensed engineer in the State of Florida
  • Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and a reliable mode of transportation.
  • Pass an entry drug screen and remain drug free throughout employment.
  • Other certifications such as LEED AP, LEED BD+C, or other various AEE certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, Adobe or Bluebeam and smart sheets.
  • Must be proficient in the use of:
    • Revit and AutoCAD.
    • Easypower or SKM
    • Lighting design software (Visual, AGI 32 or similar)
Active member of professional practice organization, preferably serving in a specific role of leadership.
