DescriptionPHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm specializing in the engineering and design of overhead & underground transmission/distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations. Our expertise allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our engineering team on a full time basis. This role will be based out of our Burnaby, BC office. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting intermediate/senior engineers to produce drawings including but not limited to substation physical layouts and sections, material take offs, single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Performing engineering calculations.
- Applying engineering software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
- Undertaking site visits.
- Writing reports and engineering documents.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 years experience in the electrical utilities industry in North America.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and be eligible to register as an EIT with EGBC. The successful candidate will be directly supervised by a professional engineer (P.Eng.) registered in BC.
- Previous substation design work experience is an advantage.
- Self-motivated and driven. Able to undertake multiple assignments at once while managing your own time to meet project deadlines.
- Positive attitude and a team player.
- Ability to learn quickly and enjoys adapting to varying tasks.
- A strong communicator with good report writing skills.
