The Electrical E will work in the dynamic system engineering team in support of Department of Defense (DoD). This engineer is responsible for applying radio frequency (RF)/radar theories, applicable DoD guidance and NTIA manual, to review and critique the DoD RF/Radar equipment on its transmitter, receiver, and antenna characteristics. If the RF specifications are not complying, the engineer is to justify why the RF equipment not complying and provide recommendations to the program offices/designer to bring the equipment to comply with the DoD/NTIA/ITU RF/radar standards.

Requirements

Responsibilities:
• Be able to apply electromagnetic/RF/radar theories to review and critique RF characteristics and its performance and interactions with other RF equipment (e.g., filter, antenna, BER, S/N, I/N, S/I+N)
• Be able to perform and defend the RF link budget (e.g., applying RF characteristics and appropriate propagation model) to demonstrate the RF performance.
• Apply RF/radar theories to review the equipment specifications (e.g., transmitter, receiver, antenna) of any RF/radar equipment against DoD/NTIA/ITU RF/radar standards. Be able to apply RF to justify and defend as how the RF equipment perform and its compliance/non-compliances to RF standards. If the equipment not meeting the communication standards, work with the vendors/program office/designer to recommend how the equipment can be changed to meet DoD/NTIA/ITU standards.
• Follow DoD and NTIA procedures to ensure that equipment meets DoD/national RF standards.
• Be able to work in a dynamic team environment and mentor junior engineers on RF
• Secret Clearance or US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong technical background in the Radio Frequency (RF) knowledge, RF equipment certification compliance to NTIA standard, radar, RF design components (e.g., transmitter, receiver, antenna, filter), link budget, commercial wireless 5G/6G, RF modeling and simulation, experiences withing with various federal agencies (e.g., NTIA, FCC, DoD, FAA, DoT)
• 4+ Years RF Engineering Experience
• Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in electrical engineering, electronic technology, or another similar technical discipline
• Familiarity with office365, windows, and other commonly used software.
