Job Title: PLC Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming and Development:
- Design, write, and test PLC programs to meet the requirements of the automation systems.
- Modify existing PLC programs based on process changes, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure programs are optimized for safety, efficiency, and minimal downtime.
- System Integration:
- Integrate PLCs with other control systems, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and various industrial sensors and devices.
- Work with other engineering teams to ensure successful integration and communication between systems.
- Installation and Commissioning:
- Plan and oversee the installation of control systems, ensuring all equipment is set up correctly.
- Commission and test systems in real-time, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance and system updates to ensure PLC systems operate effectively.
- Documentation:
- Create detailed documentation for all programs, wiring diagrams, and system modifications.
- Maintain records of system configurations, modifications, and any troubleshooting efforts.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Provide technical support to plant operators and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors and other engineers to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on the correct use and troubleshooting of PLC systems.
- Project Management:
- Manage automation projects, including cost estimation, project planning, and coordinating with suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance requirements.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block, Sequential Function Charts).
- Experience with various PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, HMIs, and industrial networking (Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
- Understanding of electrical schematics and control panel design.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or similar environments.
- Certifications in relevant PLC platforms (optional but desirable).

- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
