We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is essential for supporting the design and execution of electrical projects within the Food and Beverage Industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems and demonstrate strong organizational and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Design, develop, validate, and oversee the installation of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary projects by preparing electrical designs and concepts for electrical power and distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners to develop design concepts.
  • Handle the design of lighting, modeling, fire alarms, communications systems, process control, and power distribution up to 44kV.
  • Conduct project management for electrical infrastructure projects and power systems.
  • Analyze technical problems and provide recommendations and solutions.
  • Prepare specifications, contract documents, engineering progress reports, and ensure all designs conform to applicable codes and client standards.
  • Supervise junior engineers and technologists by providing guidance and reviewing their work.
  • Develop detailed designs for high and low voltage system requirements.
  • Conduct applied research to provide optimal solutions for clients.
  • Travel to construction sites to perform inspections and prepare reports.
  • Provide consultation both in-house and on-site as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with industrial HVAC controls and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Proficiency in trade-off analysis and the design of electrical systems.
  • Must have personal transportation and a willingness to travel to client sites.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 3–5 years of related work experience, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Previous experience in electrical systems design within a consulting environment is an asset.
  • Familiarity with intricate distribution systems and cogeneration integration.
  • Experience with Ontario Ministry of Labour Pre-Start Health and Safety Review is desirable.
