Position Overview

Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) assets! Reporting to the Senior Engineer-Station Assets, you'll be at the forefront of developing innovative Maintenance Programs and Station Sustaining Plans. Your efforts will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of our extensive corporate assets.


Our assets span across T&D terminal stations, generation switchyards, switching stations, substations, telecommunication systems, relaying, and metering. You'll also manage complex distribution assets like re-closers, regulators, capacitors, system transfer schemes, and power transformers. In this role, you will:

  • Develops and maintains a CMMS for T&D assets and optimizes system investment through Station Sustaining Plans.
  • Develop and standardize procedures, methods, and engineering standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance planning and spare parts strategies.
  • Develop metrics and benchmarking for maintenance performance, asset reliability and costs; communicate metrics and performance to internal stakeholders.
  • Creates and updates maintenance procedures and standards with the maintenance planner.
  • Analyzes maintenance results, recommends corrective actions, and improves maintenance practices and resource utilization.
  • Assesses risks/liabilities of altering maintenance plans and develops business cases for management approval.
  • Provides technical support, reviews electrical designs, and prepares technical reports based on data and observations.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized program
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in generation, transmission & distribution, and construction in an electrical utility is an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance/test software, engineering principles, and electrical equipment standards.
  • Basic knowledge of CPU-based equipment, protective relaying, and utility infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management, safe work practices, and troubleshooting.
