Responsibilities

Arconic Tennessee Operations is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer for our Tennessee Operations facility. The incumbent will provide engineering support to maintenance and operations. The successful incumbent will support safety, restoring product flow, providing technical solutions to recurring design and process problems, analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions and system improvements to address those opportunities. This person will also develop, manage, and implement capital projects, major repairs and maintenance projects and provide some process engineering support.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an electrical engineering field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience and working knowledge of electrical systems and manufacturing processes and principles.
  • 5 years’ experience in high voltage electrical equipment and component engineering, design and application specification, maintenance and failure analysis. 
  • Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience in estimating, justifying, managing and installing capital projects. 
  • Experience designing, installing, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical power and control systems and equipment, including transformers, switchgear, transmission lines, sub-stations, breakers and relays. 
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering, industry safety standards and related codes and specifications. 
  • Strong electrical engineering, maintenance and reliability background.
  • Understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc. 
  • Strong written and oral communications skills. 
  • Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Experience in justifying, managing and executing capital projects.
  • Experience leading, managing and implementing electrical projects including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Oversee the activities of craft persons involved in the implementation of engineered solutions and maintenance activities. In this role, be able to initiate and maintain an ongoing dialogue with personnel to identify issues, clarify requirements, and facilitate use of safe work practices, personal protective equipment, clearance / lock-tag-verify procedures.
  • Manage external vendors who provide electrical design and support functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and with cross functional teams.
