DISHER is currently partnering with an architecture and engineering firm that specializes in the food and beverage industry in their search for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our team in the design and implementation of electrical systems for food and beverage facilities. This role involves designing electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, lighting, control systems and equipment integration to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and innovative solutions that meet client requirements.

What you will get to do:

    • Design electrical systems for food and beverage facilities, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and communications system infrastructure
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g. NFPA, NEC and USDA)
    • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and process engineers to integrate electrical systems with facility operations
    • Select and specify electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and distribution panelboards
    • Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts using Revit, EasyPower and other design tools
    • Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis and short-circuit studies to ensure system reliability and safety
    • Troubleshot and resolve issues related to electrical systems during the construction and operational phases
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance system efficiency and reliability

What will make you successful:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • 2 – 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical design in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
    • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn, and the desire to be challenged and grow.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
    • The current and continuing right to work in the U.S. without restrictions or expirations.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license or willingness to obtain preferred
    • Experience with power distribution systems, lighting systems, and control systems for industrial or commercial applications preferred
    • Experience with power systems analysis and calculations including arc flash, short circuit and time-current coordination using software such as EasyPower preferred
    • Experience with energy-efficient designs and sustainable practices.
    • Knowledge of hygienic design principles specific to food and beverage facilities preferred
    • Project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling preferred
