Our Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) team of electrical engineers is based in Melbourne and focusses on delivering sustainable solutions to airports in the fields of airfield lighting and electrical infrastructure. It is part of an integrated civil and electrical Airports section located in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.  

Our Airports section specialises in the design of aerodrome infrastructure including aircraft pavements, aeronautical ground lighting, drainage, earthworks, civil engineering and airfield planning.

The opportunity

On the back of exciting project wins, and in conjunction with an active portfolio of current projects for aviation clients such as Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane Airports, and the Department of Defence, our Airports section is looking for an early career level Electrical Engineer to join the AGL team.

The role will be based in Melbourne, and the successful candidate will ideally have experience in Aeronautical Ground Lighting design.  However, we would also consider keen applicants with other electrical backgrounds who are passionate about broadening their skills into the aviation world.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

• Design and deliver high-quality electrical engineering solutions for aviation infrastructure, including taxiway, runway, and apron lighting systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate airfield lighting into airport infrastructure projects.
• Support construction projects through monitoring construction progress.
• Perform compliance audits and assessments of existing systems and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored, innovative solutions.
• Demonstrating effective communication, presentation, networking and consulting skills;
• Actively work towards professional certification and registration.

Due to the nature of our work, you will ideally have the ability to gain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and have Australian citizenship. As well as the ability to gain CPEng status
