WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- The selected candidate will be responsible for facility-level electrical design and engineering for low-voltage systems (480V and below) including power distribution systems, lighting, lighting controls, special systems, and motor controls using the National Electrical Code (NEC), governing building codes, and industry standards.
- Perform electrical design and engineering in coordination with the Lead Electrical Engineer.
- Handle a variety of engineering projects from conception through successful operation.
- Perform field surveys.
- Coordinate with other discipline engineers, architects, client representation, facility operation personnel, and contractors for engineering and design requirements.
- Perform electrical system calculations including load analysis, short circuit calculations, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash studies using computer-based programs.
- Assist in the development of equipment specifications based on company standards and as coordinated with specific client and equipment vendor requirements.
- Review equipment submittals and shop drawings, prepare responses to contractor RFI’s and create punch lists based on field observation.
- Ensure responsibility for facility-level electrical design and engineering for medium-voltage and low-voltage systems (35kV and below), including power distribution systems, emergency generators, UPS systems, lighting fixtures, and controls, fire alarm systems, and motor controls.

Role & Responsibilities
- Experience in electrical design and engineering focused on building systems
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Powertools, and Microsoft Office
- Facility-level electrical design and engineering for facility-level electrical design and engineering for low-voltage systems (480V and below); including power distribution systems, emergency generators, UPS systems, lighting fixtures and controls, fire alarm systems, and motor controls.
- Conduct electrical system calculations including load analysis, short circuit calculations, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash studies using computer-based programs
- Coordinate electrical design with in-house architects, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection and process engineers, as well as outside consultants. Ability to handle a variety of engineering projects from conception through successful operation.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering,focused on building systems
- Specific summer internship experience designing facility-level power distribution systems and lighting.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, AGi32, and Visual.
- Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and Adobe Professional.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Desire to obtain Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) designation with the ability to obtain P.E. licensure.
- Experience with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Science, and Laboratory industries is a plus.
