Design, implement,
maintain, and improve electrical components, equipment, products, and systems
for industrial purposes pertaining to the manufacture and operations of
Boilers, Deaerators and other boiler room related equipment.
Functions to be
performed:
- Provide
technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering
problems are encountered during the manufacturing of boiler room
equipment.
- Direct and
coordinate manufacturing, installation, and support of electrical
equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer
requirements.
- Perform detailed
calculations to compute and establish manufacturing and installation
standards and specifications
- Inspect
completed electrical installations and observe operations, to ensure
conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with
specifications and safety standards
- Prepare
specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment from suppliers
- Supervise and
train team members as necessary
- Analyze,
interpret, and troubleshoot information to resolve design- related
problems
- Write procedures
for electrical equipment and installations
- Review
engineering and customer specifications regarding electrical requirements
for equipment to be manufactured
- Support testing
of electrical components on equipment at SBW’s facility and other testing
facilities off-site
- Prepare drawings
and procedures with details and clarity for facility personnel to follow
Requirements
Essential Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor of
Science degree in Engineering or at least 5 years of engineering
experience in a mfg. environment.
- Ability to
communicate verbally and in writing
- Must be capable
of following verbal and/or written instructions
- Must be capable
of good articulation when talking on the telephone with customers
- Must have good
mathematical skills
- Knowledge of
manufacturing and industrial skills
- Must know and
practice good drafting procedures
- Must possess
good electrical/mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Detail minded
- Able and willing
to assist with troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor when needed
- Have the ability
to sit for long periods of time
- Have the ability
to grasp, stoop, squat or to perform duties with reasonable accommodation
- Proficient with
current computer programs and applications
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience in
ASME code processes, fire tube and hot water condensing boilers and burner
management systems, electrical control panels, and experience with UL
testing.
