ECHO is expanding our Engineering team!  We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of cordless products and offer technical support for our industrial product line.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 based on experience and qualifications.

This is an on-site opportunity at our Lake Zurich facility.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Support various stages of the concept, design, development, and testing processes for cordless products and accessories.
  • Dedicate up to 25% of time to the Industrial Product Equipment business segment, specifically for commercial generators, with a travel requirement of up to 10%, which may include international travel.
  • Complete assigned tasks, assist team members, and help maintain project schedules.
  • Contribute to the development of test plans to ensure that performance and customer expectations are met.
  • Conduct engineering analysis in the design of new products and their components.
  • Ensure projects adhere to specifications, standards, cost targets, and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to develop vendor relationships and assist in selecting and approving critical components.
  • Prepare documentation for processes, material requirements, test results, and project activities as needed.
  • Work with Product Management to establish product requirements and specifications, particularly when design or manufacturing challenges arise.
  • Perform competitive product analysis.

Job Experience/Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably in outdoor power equipment (OPE) or power tool industries.
  • Proficiency in C programming language with demonstrable skills.
  • Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals related to DC and AC motors and controls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach across project teams.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to identify and mitigate project and scheduling risks.
  • Familiarity with interpreting industry standards and working with certification agencies.
  • Eagerness to understand end-user needs and key product applications.
  • Skill in creating testing parameters and schematics to meet product testing needs.
  • Ability to analyze and draw insights from product test data.

Education:  BS in Electrical Engineering preferred or relevant experience.
