Position Overview:

As part of the talented Power Systems team, you will play a key role in the development and maintenance of Li-Ion battery systems. You will be responsible for drafting specifications, supporting design activities, and contributing to product improvements. Additionally, you will develop test plans and perform targeted testing as part of the development process. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role provides an opportunity to make a direct impact on innovative energy storage solutions while collaborating in a dynamic engineering environment.

Essential Functions

  • Draft technical specifications for Li-Ion battery systems.
  • Develop and implement test plans to support product development and validation.
  • Contribute to battery design activities, including component selection and system integration.
  • Perform white-box testing as part of the development process.
  • Support product maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and design improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical documentation and support for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to battery development and performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years experience in battery development, energy storage systems, or power electronics.
  • Ability to draft technical specifications and create test plans.
  • Knowledge of Li-Ion battery technologies, including design and performance characteristics.
  • Experience with white-box testing and product validation processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot battery-related issues.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and report writing.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with battery management systems (BMS)
  • Experience in embedded electronics.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for battery safety and performance.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and validation of battery systems.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools and data analysis for battery performance evaluation.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office and laboratory environment with hands-on work in test facilities.
  • Will require handling battery components and test equipment following proper safety protocols.
  • Some exposure to electrical and thermal hazards, mitigated by adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Rarely travel may be required for supplier or customer visits.
  • Standard working hours with flexibility for project deadlines and testing schedules.
