Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. This role typically requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, alongside practical experience in implementing electrical solutions across various projects. The engineer will work alongside senior engineers and cross-functional teams to create reliable, efficient, and cost-effective systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and equipment based on project requirements.
  • Create electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Apply electrical principles to solve complex engineering problems and improve system performance.
  • Conduct system and component testing to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform root-cause analysis to resolve issues.
  • Ensure proper documentation of test results and modifications made.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (mechanical engineers, software engineers, etc.) to integrate electrical systems into larger products.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to understand their needs and specifications.
  • Assist in managing projects, including preparing technical reports, budgets, and timelines.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior engineers and project managers.
  • Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and time constraints.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, codes, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Promote safety within the workplace and ensure that electrical systems and equipment meet safety requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, helping them develop their technical skills.
  • Review their designs and offer constructive feedback.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year College or University.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design, circuit analysis, and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, PSpice, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulatory guidelines (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
