The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of electrical systems within our industrial facilities. They analyze equipment to identify and correct weaknesses, develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and optimize processes to reduce costs and downtime. The role also includes managing improvement projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and training technical staff. This position requires expertise in electrical engineering, experience in reliability, and project management skills.


KEY RESPONSABILITIES



  • Draft electrical maintenance plans and develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.

  • Conduct Arc Flash studies, coordination studies, short-circuit studies, and harmonic studies.

  • Produce single-line diagrams and oversee the use of monitoring technologies (thermography, oil analysis) to anticipate failures.

  • Manage turnkey projects, including product selection and upgrading existing systems, while collaborating with production, engineering, and maintenance teams.

  • Implement continuous improvement processes using analysis tools such as RCA, FMEA, and AMDEC to identify and address root causes of failures.

  • Optimize the energy efficiency of electrical systems by proposing technical solutions and equipment upgrades to reduce costs.

  • Supervise electrical maintenance work and ensure project compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Place great importance on professional development by participating in training and obtaining new certifications.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE



  • Electrical engineering degree

  • Member of the order of engineers

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in industrial settings

  • Communication skills, written and verbal, in French

  • Written and verbal communication skills in English would be considered an asset

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Mastery of reliability analysis techniques and associated tools.

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including relevant standards and regulations

  • Experience in turnkey project management

  • Maintenance experience with low, medium, and high voltage switchgear
