JOB DESCRIPTION:


Electrical Engineer Co-op start date January 6, 2026, through August 15, 2025


Internships have a lasting impact on our team at New York Air Brake! The co-op program for students in their junior or senior year of study provides the opportunity to make big contributions that will help us deliver advanced freight rail braking solutions now and in the future. This is your opportunity to make a big impact on improving the quality of how the latest generation of locomotive and freight car braking systems are manufactured. Co-op opportunity for Electrical, Electrical Engineering Technology, or technical majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. You can expect challenging work and an insider's view into your future profession. You will work individually and as part of a project team while receiving regular feedback in preparation for a final presentation to company leaders.


 


The pay range for the Electrical Engineering Intern/Co-op position is dependent on your upcoming fall school year:


BS Junior  $22.00 

BS Senior  $23.00 

 


Responsibilities could include:



  • Assist engineers with electrical design details

  • Further research and development of existing products and technologies

  • Support product development

  • Develop and Construct Test Infrastructure

  • Perform Tests and organize test data

  • Perform Design updates based on test findings

  • Gather and coordinate data for engineers


 


Required Skills:



  • Understand basic circuit understanding

  • Understand Circuit analysis skills

  • Hands-on experience, familiar with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters

  • Understand basic instrumentation, including Data Acquisition.

  • Understand basic electrical engineering skills, use of tools, etc.

  • Understand imperial and metric units of measure.

  • Capable of technical writing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.


 


Education:


Degree in process: Electrical Engineering,  Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology

Minimum Year: Entering Junior Year
