The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Texas A&M University-Kingsville invites applications for three full-time, 9-month/academic year, tenure-track assistant professor faculty positions in Computer Science beginning Spring or Fall 2025.
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science offers B.S. degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, and computer engineering; M.S. degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, and mechatronics; and multidisciplinary Ph.D. program offered by the College of Engineering. The department has 18 faculty and serves approximately 600 students. The department has received an average research funding of $1.75M per year for the past 3 years from NSF, DHS, NIH, DoD, Department Energy, and Department of Labor. The department is a highly integrated, multidisciplinary unit situated within the vibrant College of Engineering, offering numerous cross-disciplinary collaborative research opportunities. Responsibilities
Effective classroom teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing curricula and laboratories, supervising research of graduate students, publishing refereed journal articles, and developing and maintaining an externally-funded research program.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science or in a closely related area by the time of appointment.
Preferred Requirements
Background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, data mining, data analytics, bioinformatics, computer architecture, and software engineering.
Start date: Spring or Fall 2025.
